To attend courses or to verify prior language competence for the purpose of credit assignment or level recognition, it is necessary to take the Link identifier #identifier__29060-1placement test for students enrolled in first- and second-level advanced professional courses and PhD courses.
Based on the result of the placement test, the required language level may be recognized or credits assigned. If the required level set by the student’s degree program is not achieved (see the Academic Regulations available on each program website), a Link identifier #identifier__195562-2classroom course or an Link identifier #identifier__192134-3online self study course (called CLACSON) will be assigned. At the end of this course, students must take a final test on the topics studied.
Starting in the 2024–25 academic year, courses for students enrolled in Roma Tre University PhD schools are included in CLA free course offerings. For students enrolled in first- and second-level advanced professional courses, the student fee has been set at €100 for classroom courses (30 hours of in-person lessons + 40 hours of online work).
In addition to these placement tests, the CLA also organizes three specific sessions per year (Link identifier #identifier__189847-4Assessment Test – NO CREDITS (ECTS) for those in student mobility programs (ERASMUS+ and other international programs).
PhD and advanced professional course students follow the same academic calendar as the Master’s Degree programs (sometimes the courses are the same as those attended by Master’s Degree students) but with different dates for registration and placement tests. PhD and advanced professional course students may enroll in a higher course (either classroom or online) in the language they studied during their Bachelor’s degree without having to take another placement test.
These students may especially benefit from the Academic/Scientific English courses, which provide support in skills such as writing documents and preparing oral presentations.
